Melody's smile stretched off her face when Alyssa gave her a hug, and she kept Alyssa close to her, especially heart to heart, physically, as they embraced. "You're welcome," Melody said. "It's useful being a descendant of a guitar amplifier company, I get certain benefits." Before Alyssa pulled Melody out of the hug and into a kiss, Melody didn't mind at all as she pushed right back in towards Alyssa, kissing her briefly before they pulled away. Melody's gaze followed Alyssa as she wandered to the back of the drumset and sat down.
"I know," Melody said. "I was doing some thinking. You've told me a lot about you, and a lot about what you're trying to do with yourself, your life, the way you interact with others. So, I thought, maybe I can help you de-stress after a long day, and find a new passion! I went back and forth. Guitar, no -- bass, no -- piano, no -- drums... that was it. You have experience with weapons and are super coordinated, so I predicted that drums were the best fit for you," she explained. "So I hope I made the right call."
Melody walked over to the drums, pointing to each of the respective drums in turn. "So these drums, the ones with 'Needle In A Hayes Stack' and your face on them, those are the bass drums," she said. "This one right here close to your left is the snare drum. Aaaand these are the high toms, these are the low toms." Before she scooted to the back of the drumset next to Alyssa. "This here is a hi-hat," Melody explained. "It's for keeping rhythm. These are the crash cymbals, ride cymbals, this one is called a China cymbal. We have a few splash and swish cymbals. It's okay if you don't remember all these immediately. Maybe try it out?"
